Master Roshi is a pivotal character in the Dragon Ball series, first appearing in the inaugural episode of Dragon Ball, "Bulma and Son Goku." He is a highly skilled martial arts master, despite his elderly and eccentric demeanor.
Roshi trained Goku and Krillin, instilling in them the fundamentals of martial arts and emphasizing the importance of discipline and respect. His training methods are often unorthodox, incorporating both physical and mental challenges.
